Black Ballerina- look of the day

Black BallerinaThe outfit I wore for the Scottish Ballet, the Nutcracker. I chose a colour scheme of all black and gave myself a messy bun rather than a traditional ballerina bun to make the look more modern and edgy. I paired my Jack Wills ballerina skirt with my H&M top with sheer material on the arms and black velvet polka dots which bring the focus to the arms. Then to bring the look together I added my black velvet Topshop hairband as it is the same material as the polka dots so re-emphasises them.

The early signs of a fashionista

This weekend I went to Wallington in Northumberland. It is a big country house with beautiful gardens and is part of the National Trust. I opened the door to a room filled with beautiful antique dolls houses. My heart melted and I thought back to little me playing with my dolls houses. But what I really loved about the experience¬†was the fashion. I would spend hours dressing up each single doll. This made me think, sometimes when you are a child there can be little hints of what you will become later in life. It might simply be something creative. Say when you were little you might of wanted to be a ballerina but instead you became an actress. These both involve being centre stage, the star of the show. So take a second to think back to what you wanted to be when you were young…
